Transpersonal Counselling
Radical Inquiry & Loves Breath

Radical Inquiry

Radical Inquiry is a specific form of inquiry that is grounded in one of the key principles of The Pathway of Enlightenment, which is to “turn the mind back upon itself.” This process is discussed throughout The Pathway of Mastery, and it is considered a critical practice for healing, discovering greater joy and peace in life, and fully awakening. Radical Inquiry is both a science and an art, founded on exacting truth corroborated by modern advances in mind-body knowledge and developmental psychologies. As we cultivate our understanding of it, our skill in its use, and the effects and benefits emerging from it, we grow, much like a wise gardener cultivates his knowledge of soil, rain, sun, and seed, our experience with it.

Radical Inquiry is a practice that can help you discover the root source of an issue, feeling, or belief. It can help you see into the roots of the habitual ego-mind and beyond it into what we call Essence or Being, as we grow in Awakened Mind. This practice will not only show you what has imprisoned you unconsciously, but it will also give you practical and immediate steps to take in all moments to access your own wisdom and heart. It can pave the way for grounding a true, living spirituality and help you to be capable of truly being helpful to others.

Love's Breath

Love’s Breath is a fundamental practice of the Pathway of Mastery that is integrated with Radical Inquiry to bring about profound and rapid transformation. This practice retrains the body to breathe more freely, allowing its natural energy streams to become unblocked and integrated. Love’s Breath offers a pathway to growth, freedom, awakening, illumination, creativity, and most importantly, to that peace that surpasses all understanding. It is a powerful tool that can help you connect with your inner self and experience a deeper sense of peace and well-being.

Loves breath is the willingness to breath light itself – life-force breathing us. This allows perfect communion, perfect communication, perfect peace, joy stillness – REST into the true nature – the spark of light.

Love’s Breath is a powerful and transformational breathing practice by which universal intelligence flows from the mind of God or ‘Alaha’ into the body-mind itself, here and now.

‘The degree to which we are a living soul, and the health of our being at all levels, depends on the quality of how well the body breathes’.

Trauma in the womb, at birth and during the first formative years, followed by cultural indoctrination that passes the tensions of our parents and ancestors onto us, literally twists the free flow of breath right out of us.

In Hinduism and Buddhism, breath symbolises life, purity, energy, divinity and power. It is not just the beginning of life, but the totality of life. It is the source of life in the body. They say that breath can make the body alive, even if a few organs are missing or malfunctioning. But if the breath departs from the body, the organs have no choice but to die.

Through meditation breathing, Buddhists and Hindus/Yogi’s get more control over their breath and thoughts. This superior control over their thoughts allows their mind to calm down and operate more peacefully and distinctly.

When you are completely aware of your breathing patterns, your mind gets to relax and calm down. This state of mindfulness gives you optimum control over your actions and thoughts.

In Aramaic the word ‘shem’ is the same word for ‘spirit’ and ‘breath’. It is the most subtle, mysterious movement of ‘light’ or pure potentiality arising from the unified field, the ground of being, emptiness, the void, also known as God.

It carries an intent or goal, which is the principle to Create. Light, spirit is the ‘out breath’ of the Divine.

It brings forth from nonexistence into existence. This word is ‘Shm’ (or ‘Shem’ as in the first line of the Aramaic Lords Prayer - Abwoon d’bwa shm aya).

This Light/creative power/intent of divine desire, ‘arises in the ‘beginningless beginning’ and is constantly and ceaselessly arising. It is the essence, power and Life of ALL ‘forms’, from subtle vibration, to feeling to revelation.

Like waves arising in infinite individualities from one powerful, inexhaustible Ocean, all ‘form’ is the arising of the ocean of Love Consciousness Jeshua’s first word became a primary living practice: to stop, breathe and feel. The very first step of Shalu: (Shalu – the Aramaic word to describe a step-by- step process of attunement or coming into harmony and flow with the divine—what we know as prayer).

Not a begging, not an asking for but direct feeling, connected to the flow of breath. An immediacy of coming into Presence.

“Over the years of my awakening journey, I have seen and participated in many different breathwork modalities and theories, especially through mindfulness and yoga practices. I found them extremely beneficial and healing on many levels. But it wasn’t until I learnt Jeshua’s Aramaic teachings that I experienced the full feeling of ecstatic embodied wholeness” - Shantari

“We are being ‘breathed’ into existence by the very Desire and Intent of the Mysterious Ground of ALL creation, right here and right now.”

Self Inquiry

Radical self-inquiry is a powerful process of introspection and exploration that goes beyond surface-level questioning. It involves diving deep into your inner landscape to uncover hidden truths, patterns, and beliefs. Here’s what it entails:

  1. Deep Reflection: Instead of skimming the surface, radical self-inquiry encourages you to explore the depths of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It’s like shining a spotlight on the corners of your psyche.

  2. Challenging Assumptions: You question assumptions you’ve held for years. These might be about yourself, others, or the world. By examining these assumptions, you gain clarity and can choose whether to keep or discard them.

  3. Authentic Exploration: Radical self-inquiry invites authenticity. You’re not afraid to confront uncomfortable truths or face aspects of yourself that you’ve avoided. It’s a courageous journey inward.

  4. Systemic Awareness: It’s not just about “why” you feel a certain way; it’s about understanding the larger systems at play. How do societal norms, family dynamics, and cultural influences shape your beliefs?

  5. Non-Judgmental Curiosity: Approach yourself with curiosity, not judgment. Ask questions without preconceived notions. Be open to surprises and revelations.

  6. Integration: Radical self-inquiry isn’t about dissecting yourself—it’s about integrating all aspects of your being. It’s the alchemical process of turning self-awareness into wisdom.

Self-enquiry involves turning toward our distress with the intention to learn from it. Self-enquiry involves looking for our edge (i.e., our personal unknown) and asking ourselves good questions that can help us learn. The most central self-enquiry question is “what do I need to learn (from this situation or experience)?”

Remember, this practice isn’t about finding quick answers; it’s about the journey of self-discovery

These edges are a result of Core Wounds... the root cause of suffering

Core wounds are the ancient, deep-seated emotional pains within us. They are like old friends—miserable, yet familiar. These wounds often stem from our earliest beliefs and experiences. Let’s explore them:

Original Sin: Imagine humanity’s journey—the Tree of Knowledge, the fall from innocence. Core wounds echo this ancient tale. They’re generational—passed down through guilt, rejection, and self-hatred.

Childhood Origins: Our core wounds often begin in childhood. As free-spirited children, we faced constraints—invalidation, punishment for being authentic. These wounds deepen as we grow.

Barriers of Protection: To shield ourselves, we build barriers—protection from hurt. But these walls limit our authenticity and freedom.

Finding our core wounds is potent Soul work. It reveals dense blockages, allowing us to shine our inner Light. Remember, you’re not alone; we all carry these wounds. Healing begins when we acknowledge them.
